A letter from our new Executive Director:

Hi Chardon Chamber Members!

I’m Courtney Smith, and I’m excited to introduce myself as Chardon Chamber’s new Executive Director.

I always make decisions based on how they help others, so being able to serve my community as Chardon’s next Executive Director was an easy yes. Supporting local businesses, families, and neighbors is what matters most to me, and what I’ve built my entire career around.

I bring experience in local business development, community connection, and creative growth, gained through years of working with small businesses, family-owned companies, and community organizations to help them share what makes them special and reach new audiences.

As the owner of a full-service marketing and media company, I help businesses with everything from advertising strategy and content creation to social media, photography, and video. I’ve also been deeply involved in tourism and event leadership across Geauga County, including farmers markets, county fairs, and the launch of Explore Geauga County, all with the goal of bringing people together and supporting local economies.

I can’t wait to get to know all of you, learn what matters most, and build programs that truly add value. I believe the Chamber should not only be a place for connection, collaboration, and opportunity, but a safe space where businesses can come when they are struggling and need support. We are all here for the same thing—to keep our communities strong, families safe, and our local economy growing together.

I’m a proud Kent State grad and live in Auburn Township with my two dogs. When I’m not working, you can usually find me bird watching in one of the Geauga Parks, eating apples at Sages, or catching a Lakers game.

I’m so happy you’re here and I can’t wait to meet you, hear your story, and learn how the Chamber can better support you.

-Courtney Smith
